Ok folks, reunion 2007 isn't that far off. It's only one tornado season and one more winter for me here. I strongly suggest that those planning to attend dig deep into old footlockers and bring old photos. Here is what I propose. Everyone that has photos of yours and our tour in Vietnam, bring them to the reunion, as is. I plan on driving this time anyway, so I'll bring along my scanners (one photo and one letter size), a photo printer, blank CDs/DVDs, photo paper of various sizes, and a computer. I'll scan all photos into a database giving credit to the photographer. I'll print photos that people would like to have, return the originals to the owners and bring the scans home with me. I'll also make the photo CDs/DVDs on site too. Once I get settled back into my computer room, I'll start taking the scans and tweaking them a bit and create an album with descriptions, etc. I request that you write on the back of the photograph the name of the photographer, date taken if known, and what the photo is about. Hopefully I'll have enough time during the reunion to get this done so I won't have to bring any original photos home with me. Once the album is completed, I'll work with Frainey or someone else and come up with some sound bytes and incorporate them into the album. Once it's finished, I'll personally mail it out to everyone that wants one FREE of charge. We are all getting a bit older now and don't know how long some of us will be around. I know there must be some photos laying around someplace in your closet, garage, toolbox, etc. No matter what condition they are in, bring them along. Moose Man Murphy did an outstanding job on his photo CD and maybe he will allow me to incorporate some of his photos as well. Unfortunately for me, I know of only one photo in existence of me in Vietnam. My daughter has one of me taken in 71 during my second tour. If you have any of me, I would appreciate them too. That's what I get for too many marriages and divorces. I don't know what ever happened to my war trophies. My beer stein from Co Hai's Joint in Been Some More (smile). Ben Son Moi?? Or the 'GI, you buy me Tea?' cassette tape that Ms. Phoung gave me at the Can Tho Airfield PX. So, get to work now and bring those photos with you. Including the ones you were hiding for whatever reason in the world. I don't think Stu has set a date yet, but when he does he will need help. I'm not too far from you Stu, so count me in.
