You are right about Pat Sajak - though the year is in doubt. When I served as commander of the American Forces Network Europe (headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany) in the mid-late eighties, many of my staff were veterans of the AFVN experience and remember him. AFRTS had a number of distinguished members, including Bing Crosby's son, George Kennedy the actor, and many many people who became senior people in America's radio and TV networks.
