Some 58,000 of our brothers sacrificed themselves to oppose the spread of communism. In our lifetime, we viewed the spread of the communist doctrine as the supreme evil. We imposed strict sanctions against trade with communist countries. In recent years American corporations have found that they can reap huge profits by sourcing products from communist countries where workers are paid slave wages. While the corporations reap their profits, the politicans tout "globalization" and trade agreements that close American factories and build large trade deficits. Communist countries build their treasuries and their military machines with the dollars earned in these transactions. Meanwhile the communist regimes maintain tight control over their people and begin to threaten their neighbors. Is the sacrifice of so many worth so little and is our memory so short?
