Johnny: The whole base was sprayed with Agent Orange to kill the weeds. Dumb, but there is is. The Mojawks there did spraying missions and the Airfield Commander was desprate to get promoted; wanted a base that looked STRAC (A bit unclear on the term "Tropics" too.)
See my post in Delta Aviation about vision problems. Seems that the chloroquinine we were all ordered to take causes them.
