I was stationed at Can Tho AAF 1970/71 and participated in the recovery of a crash that took place between one of the Cobra's and an Air America aircraft which had Vietnamese civilians in it. But, it took place during the daytime.

I am trying to locate documentation on this event for supporting a VA SC claim for PTSD as VA hasn't been able to validate that it happened, go figure VA out. My email address is htyt1972@aol.com.

As my MOS was 84B10 (Still Photographer) then, I went out and photographed the crash site for the 307th BN for the crash investigation. This was my first experience in observing dead American soldiers and Vietnamese.

I even had to endore an Army E-7 NCO who bitched me out as he at first thought that I was oit there taking souvineer pictures. I handed him my camera and told him to take the f..... pictures and turn them into battalion. He finally calmed down and let me do my job.

I completed my job and turned the photos into the BN.

Today I still haven't been able to erase those memories of the two pilots laying dead in their aircraft.

After I retired out of the Army, I went to school and earned a Masters degree in social work. I have worked with many veterans and their families who are dealing with their PTSD from combat and other military related traumatic events.

PTSD is not something that's just in your head and that you can easily get over. It stays with us for life and treatment does help for soften the traumatic memories.

If anyone can help me here, I would appreciate it.

God Bless all veterans and their families as they only know too well the price that comes with wars.
