the compound you are looking at is just down the main road from the main gate. the dirt road going in front of the compound took you right to the airfield tower. that dirt road going to the right was a little viet nam neighborhood as we would call it here. we would walk across the dirt road and give tham some candy sometime. we wern't allowed to enter their little village. this compound is off the main post. looking at the picture, the right lower corner would be the main gate. going to the left bottom corner is going to the town of can tho. the dirt road you see had an arvn gate at the bottom of the page. we were the searchlight group that patroled the airfield at night. we were the 29th arty "bright eyes".
