George;

Thanks for the reply and it's being twice placed to ensure discovery. I too remember the massage that accompanied a haircut. The spot where I relaxed for mine was beside the 156th Aviation Co. operations hotel in town (from the airfield go straight at the fountain for a few blocks. Look right at Morley the Indian tailor's). Really nice! I shiver now to recall, though, that the manual clipper haircut and massage also came with the barber's tool poked into my ears to remove deep wax. The wax-work always concluded with his quarter inch feather duster going in to polish things up a bit. The activity violated my 5th grade teacher's admonishment to poke nothing smaller than one's elbow into your ear.

I experienced a moment of delight when you mentioned the milky, sweet coffee. I was a guard at the operations hotel entrance and at the airfield. Some mid-evenings the hotel Papa-San's early-teen daughter would bring me a drinking glass of the thick, sweet coffee. I came to enjoy the unusual beverage, but much more enjoyed the thoughtfulness.

In years past I have reproduced the sound of Puff the Magic Dragon at its work. Hey…you are right…that is the fog-horn sound. Thanks!

Check in a little more frequently.
