Yeah I remember some of those nights, didn't seem to happen till I was a short timer, and that made it worse. I remember all the yelling and screaming "In coming". Running into those lousy bunkers (that usually had water on the floor) in your boxer shorts and bare feet. Then feeling glad you were surrounded by sand bags and barrels of sand while your knees shook.I remember the distant thumps that got louder. I remember our outgoing and flinching at that too till you learned the difference. I remember the next day going into the hooch behind us where the engineers were billeted and seeing the room where one guy was hit while in his bunk.It went off on top of his fridge, the walls were peppered with holes that the sun shown through.He never knew what hit him. I remember I was glad to be on the 1st floor in my hooch. I think I recall 3 attacks while I was there, don't recall any damage to our Chinooks from those attacks.
