I am a orphan of the Vietnam War. I was born in 1974. In Can Tho. There are no records of my birth or existence. This is all the information that I know. I was adopted in December 1974 to an American family and have lived in Michigan all my life. My family is American. I am 27 years old now and have not been able to have any exposure to Vietnam or it's people. I have read and researched extensively on the subject, however I have never had the opportunity to speak with anyone who was there. That can tell me from first hand experience what it was actually like. I feel that since I have little to no knowledge of the circumstances surrounding Can Tho's status during that time, I am missing a huge part of my identity. I hope that if anyone reads this and can educate me about what it was like there during that time, it would help me greatly. I am grateful and proud to be an American citizen (Since I was 4 years old) but I also want to be proud of my Vietnamese heritage. Thank you to anyone who will take the time to respond to this posting.
