Thank you and good evening Butch. I came to Can Tho either just before New Year Dec 1968 or right after New Year Jan 1969. I remember one night all of us were watching a Movie on the third floor and Mr. Cunningham was heading for the balcony. There was one very loud explosion, followed by another one a few minutes later.
Our hotel suddenly went pitch black. I later learned that an MP had went berserk with a grenade launcher, during the attack that night and a soldier who had volunteered for Water Truck duty got his hands and feet blown away by one of the stray grenades. Capt. Roach, Mr. C. and a few others, civilians included watched all of it from the third floor. From I was told later Charlie was literally walking them right down the middle of the street.
