Yes, the War Wagon did play a major role inrouting the VC fom the end of the runway. The guys from the motor did an outstanding job in putting the thing together. I have included a short chapter about it in my up-coming book, "The Pucker Factor", however, the years have grayed my memory of the names of the motorpool men. Please note that all charactors in my book have had their names changed so not to embarrash anyone; except COL Jack Dempsy. Do any of you recall who they were? I also am in great need of a photo of the "War Wagon". Anyone who sends me one that I can use in the book will get credit. Also, does anyone remember SSG Jimmy James of te 13th CAB the 164th Gp? He was in commo and ran the Mars Station. Or SSG Daniel Campbell of the Gp's S4? We were all wounded in the barracks that night in Feb when the airfield was hit with mortar and recoiless rifle fire. I'm not sure of the date; my PH orders say the 25th, but I can't find any historical data on that. Any way, James and Campbell were medevaced that night. I don't know whatever became of them. Great web site, Joe. Thanks!
