Anyone out there remember the Caribou that came in painted up like Santa Claus, Christmas 1970. My roomie (P. Blankenship "lurch") and I had pulled the night shift in the tower and about 0800 heard Christmas carols in the sky. About then someone came into the hooch and said that Santa Bou was coming in with Playboy bunnies aboard. The music was coming from a USAF O-2 psyops plane, and sure enough the Caribou landed taxied in front of the terminal, dropped the ramp and out came a bunch of Playboy bunnies and donut dollies from the Bob Hope show up north. They had a couple of portable bars and passed out some Christmas Cheer and goody bags from the Red Cross.
It was really strange but something you wouldn't forget. Expecially if you got a rum and coke from Miss March or Novemeber or whatever but sure enough "round eye".
