I arrived in Can Tho in October 66 and was assigned to HHC, 13th Avn Bn after the personnel sergeant found out I was a good typist eventhough I was a 67N. I also floated as a crew chief for Green Delta 777 and others Headquarters UH1's. We moved to the airfield in April of 67 after the mess hall opened. Up until then, we ate on the local economy and never had problems. Within three months of mess hall food, hepatitis broke out! I still remember that damn GG shot! It seems they were not properly washing the vegetables.
The first real motor attack causing real damage happened in November 67, the night before I flew home. I slept in the bunker that night.
