Thanks for the comments on this website. I've just discovered this virtual place that reflects the real place I was at in 1971-72. Those barracks you talk about were where I was at during this time. Actually, they were pretty neat, considering that I joined the 235th AWC at Phu Bai in March 1971 during Lam Son 719, the Laos Invasion. We were about thirty to a barracks room, closer than boot camp and with mosquito nets. When the 235th returned to Can Tho, we stayed in those barracks you talk about, but we were rocketed only a few times and shelled once, as I recall. I understand that the 235th, and my later unit, c/16 Air Cav, were responsible for moving back the VC in the delta and the U Minh forest. We actually had a decent time in the Delta then (aka the PullOut Jan 72). Any comments?
