Being an Air Traffic Controller, strap hangar gunner and a Bartender in the O'Club, I knew a bunch of pilots. One night when I was working and getting short on my DEROS, the Cdr of the 235th asked me when I was leaving. I told him and he said to call him the night before I was to head to 90th Repl Dpt. When I did call him, he said to be on the East Taxiway at 0900. This little SP/5 was given a personal DEROS flight from Can Tho to the pad between officer country and the EM area in the 90th. That was the best ride of them all.
