I was NCOIC of the dispensary from October 67 - October 68. I once hitched a ride on a birddog (I believe it was a birddog) It had rockets on the sides. The pilot spotted something below and without telling me plummeted down and all of a sudden it seemed the whole plane was breaking apart. I was sure this was the end. After it was over he turned to me and asked of I was scared. I said no, if spite of being ghost white. After we landed he told me he let go the rockets to spot a VC position below.
