Fall of '67, we were still billeted in CHEAP CHARLIE'S HOTEL the 69th Villa on TuDo St in the Ben Xe Moi district. About this time a little GI showed up, he was Lithuanian or Hungarian, well a heavy accent and quite a funny dude. He was sent to Nam on Company Orders and when he stepped off the troop ship he had 45 days left in the Army! He decided that if he got drunk and stayed drunk for 45 days he'd wake up in the states. So that's what he did! One night the MP's took him in for undressing in one of the bars, (it was hot) and in his words, ..."so then the Provost Marshall looked up and said, "OH,NO, NOT HIM AGAIN, TAKE HIM HOME AND PUT HIM IN HIS BED".."...
Oh, that nickel beer was not Carling Black Label, I can still drink that if its cold enough, but that nickel stuff was worse than Ba-Me-Ba, the good old '33'.
